Quarter 1 Week 2

Monday, August 19

This week we will be learning:

Spalding: We will continue our Spalding Homework this week.  Phonogram test on Friday!

Literature:  Elmer and the Dragon, please email your teacher if you do not have a copy. We are reading chapter 3-7 this week. 

Grammar: This week we are diving deeper in the meaning of nouns, synonyms, antonyms, and verbs.

Math: We are reviewing and expanding out knowledge about place value, expand form, standard form, and word form.

Science: Properties of Matter & What is a Scientist?

History: Geography of North and South America

Poetry: The Cow, Due the week of September 2-6th.

Math & Reading MAP testing is on Wednesday and Thursday from 8am to 10am this week. This is a benchmark test to help the school determine student growth. Please give your best effort to have students to school on time. 

Students will be bring home a Reading Log this week. Please keep this in your scholar's red take home folder as they will be checked daily. If your student loses their reading log, blanks logs are available on the "Reading" page of the blog.

As we are beginning a new year, we are recommitting to following the dress code. Please review the following section about hair bows. 

"Neat small bows, barrettes, headbands, and hair ties are permissible so long as they coordinate with the uniform." Bows should coordinate with the blue and white uniforms of the K-4 Uniform.
