Phonograms: We are starting to work through all 70 phonograms each week. We recommend choose a few each night to review with your scholar.

Spelling Test on Friday!
Your scholar will form an appreciation for the beauty and art of Greek Myths, get exposure to mythological vocabulary and Greek gods and goddesses, discuss the concepts of myth, visualize myths through illustrations, and discuss virtues of the characters, specifically gods and goddesses in myths.
Reading Log:
Each day, students will bring home a book of choice from the GHNO classroom library. At home, students will read this book aloud to an adult.
Each day please log:
1. The title of the classroom library book read.
2. The total minutes your student spent reading (20 minutes minimum).
3. Parent initials confirming minutes read.
Please make sure your scholar is reading and this log is filled out and turned in on Mondays.
It will be counted as a quiz grade.
Your scholar will be reviewing the parts of speech learned so far this year and will be practicing their beautiful copy work skills.
Your scholar will be diving deeper into their understanding and the why behind subtraction. They will be mentally subtracting tens within 100, mentally subtract hundreds, fluently subtract within 100 without renaming using strategies based on place value, subtract a 2-digit number from a 3-digit number without renaming, and subtract a 3-digit number from another 3-digit number without renaming.
Your scholar will be continuing their Unit: Ancient Greece. They will exploring The Olympic Games, The Great Thinkers (Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle), and Alexander the Great.
Science:
Your scholar will be learning and exploring the digestive system. They will learn about the esophagus, mouth, and stomach.
Students will have a science homework assignment on Tuesday!
