Quarter 1 Week 4

Tuesday, September 5th

This week we will be learning:

Spalding:
Phonograms: we are reviewing these this week (ough, oe, ey, igh, kn, gn, we, ie, dge, ei, eigh, ti, si, ci, a)

Spelling Words: would, could, should, any, many, city, only, where, weak, week, first, cent, sent, mile, seem.
Spelling Test on Friday!

Don't forget your scholar has Spalding homework Monday-Thursday.
It is located inside their red folder.

Literature: The Dragon's of Blueland, please email your teacher if you do not have a copy.

Your scholar will be participating in discussions about comprehension questions, predictions, point of view, and identifying elements of a story: characters, setting, plot.

Charlotte's Web will be needed Thursday, September, 14th. 

Grammar:

Your scholar will be learning about adjectives and reviewing parts of speech of nouns and verbs. They will also be learning the meaning behind their first phrase "You can't teach an old dog new tricks".

Math:
We will be looking into  identifying money ($1, $5, $10, $20, $100) and how it relates to place value in the Hundred, Tens and Ones.

Math homework pages that need to be completed can be found inside your students agenda.

Science:
This week we will be beginning our weather unit.

Poem
The Cow to be memorized by September 8thth
 
Your scholar is required to speak the title and author of the poem and recite the poem from memory in front of their classmates.

*Please help your scholar memorize and recite the poem while at home.*
