Charlotte's Web Literature Celebration: Our first celebration is coming up next month on Tuesday, October 28th. It will be celebrated during the school day from 1:30-3:00.
Please look for an email coming from your child's teacher here soon with more details about the way you can help with donations and supplies that might be needed!
Character Dress Up Day (Oct. 24th): Costume proposal forms were sent home on Monday, September 29th inside your scholars red folder. These forms must be filled out and returned on or before Wednesday, October 22nd. The costume MUST be approved by the teacher before being able to wear on the 24th.
Content Corner This Week:
Math -
Scholars this week will be review how to use doubles equations to solve a given equation. They will also be learning how to mentally add ones, tens, and hundreds. They will be using base-ten blocks and place value strips to visually see the numbers being pulled apart.

Phonograms: We are starting to work through all 70 phonograms each week. We recommend choosing a few each night to review with your scholar.

Scholars will be learning about what makes up a simple subject, simple predicate, complete subject, and complete predicate. They will be learning how to divide a given sentence into these different parts.
History -
Unit: Ancient ChinaScholars will continue within this unit learning about the Great Wall of China, writing the Chinese language, and the different Chinese inventions created.

Unit: Organism and Their HabitatsStudents will be starting a new unit this week in science. They will be learning about different types of habitats and why animals choose to live there.

They will be reading and answering comprehension questions with each chapter.
Reading Log-Each day, students are reading a book from their home library for a minimum of 20 minutes. At home, students will read this book aloud to an adult.
Each day please log:1. The title of the book from home.
2. The total minutes your student spent reading (20 minutes minimum each night).
3. Parent initials confirming minutes read.
Please make sure you scholar is reading each night and this log is filled out and turned in on the following MONDAY.
